In my teaching, I put particular emphasis on acquisition of skills because knowing something is good, but being able apply it is even better. I expose students to the study of how theory and practice intersect in the relations between governance, public policy and the law on the one hand and the understanding of power, justice, political order, and the common good on the other hand. I find that when students develop their writing, critical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills with respect to the subject they are studying, they absorb the requisite knowledge in the process.
